Introduction and Background of the Study
Successful implementation of projects depends on many variables, including the project manager’s several skills and competency levels (Flannes & Levin, 2005). Key amongst these skills and competencies is interpersonal communication (Awan, Ahmed, & Zulqarnain, 2015). The progression of any project to its successful completion is hinged on how effective the stakeholders communicate. But while many studies like (Flannes & Levin, 2005) assert that communication skills or competencies are fundamental in project management, no specific studies have been conducted to assess the extent to which interpersonal communication skills or competencies are essential in the successful implementation of projects. Therefore, this study’s focus will be to develop interpersonal communication skills for a project manager in ensuring the success of a project. It is important to note that this paper’s interpersonal communication skills refer to communication and communication to multiple stakeholders. Moreover, in this study, the importance of interpersonal communication skills in the project’s planning stage is also analyzed in a communication strategy to related stakeholders.

Research Approach
The study will be literature-based. Therefore, secondary research will be employed to collect literature from peer-reviewed journals from various online journal repositories. Moreover, the study intends to collect secondary data from other literature sources such as the internet, textbooks and magazines. The literature review’s employment is based on the fact that it assesses the current state of research on the topic (Bryman & Bell, 2011). Therefore recent publications (less than 10 years old) will be used in the study.
Limitations
Conventionally, the quality of information from secondary data may not be very reliable in quality (Liamputtong, 2013). It is anticipated that since the study will be reviewing secondary data, the study’s internal validity may be compromised. This is because the data that will be reviewed in the study will be collected from secondary sources. This study is cognizant that there could be cases of biasness in the publications that will be reviewed, which is likely to compromise the quality of the secondary information in the reviewed studies.
